EUGENE x COLETTE PARIS | Le Cabinet de curiosités de Thomas Erber

The designer has presented a limited edition of seven sports shoes and a made to order Jodhpur side by side with “je ne sais quoi” houses such as Jaeger-Lecoultre, Kitsuné, or Pinel & Pinel at Boutique Colette in December 2010, rue Saint-Honore. He was chosen by Thomas Erber for his work of extreme quality and his idea of luxury linked to this craftsmanship. His expositions have therefore revealed as « curiosities » in a target audience of enlightened connoisseurs.

Printed in the traditional form of a “Journal”, these series of photographs were captured by Elina Kechicheva for the “soulier de sport” (sport shoe) collection, fall and winter 2009. Revealing the blue flower of adolescence concealed within the depths of the universe: between the smoothness of the cut stone and the heavy marking produced by the skateboard. An endless doubt emerges. The tracks reflect an abstract movement but decisive in which we abandon ourselves to distraction, an urban poetry which lulls adolescents – lost – like on an island – Paris – the island. It is with reminiscence that we discover the shoes in the eclectic street universe…
